Gulfstream Rv | Gulfstream Park Pick-6 Jackpot Carryover

The Pick-6 Jackpot wager at Gulfstream Park has reached just over $250,000, which means it’s time to jump into the pool. The 10-cent wager only pays out the full amount if there is one winning ticket so let’s look at the long shot chances on the card.

The first race is in the sequence is race five for non-winners of three lifetime claimers. The one mile race drew a field of twelve with Lejadami the 5-2 morning line favorite. Andysun is 8-1 on the morning line and is dropping in class making his second start off a layoff. Hold My Calls, Gambaru and Bull Hole all have wins over the track.

Race six is an allowance race on the main track and Afleet Lass is looking for her fourth straight victory. Sookie Stackhouse is probably a better filly at Calder, but she is six-for-fifteen lifetime and picks up Julien Leparoux in the irons.

The seventh race is a five-furlong turf sprint with a full field of twelve. Silver Timber is the morning line favorite at 3-1 and would once tower over this field, but the nine-year-old gelding has seen better days. The five furlongs is probably not ideal and he would need a lot of pace to run into.

The speed of the race will come from 10-1 A Centurian and 6-1 Sir Edgar. Of the two Sir Edgar gets top billing because he is drawn outside of his pace rival.

Maiden special weight colts line up for race eight and Elusive Story is the horse to beat for trainer Ralph Nicks and jockey Julien Leparoux. The Tale of the Cat-ridgling has not run since finishing second at Saratoga.

Of the first-time-starters Late Night Action and Majestic Number run for top trainer Todd Pletcher and Just a Minute goes for Kiaran McLaughlin. Monarchic has been working very well for the debut for trainer Eoin Harty.

The feature race is a two-turn allowance race for three-year-old fillies. This could be the stepping stone for connections looking to point their filly to the Kentucky Oaks.

Miss Netta comes out of back-to-back Grade 1 races including the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. She will need to break better and if not then she is vulnerable for the upset. The Cat’s All That has an edge on her competitors with the most recent races and can win with a front-running or stalking trip.

Golden History has not made strides in a pair of Grade 2 races since winning her debut at Woodbine and must prove she can run on the dirt. Refining ran a poor race in her last at Calder, but has been working well for her return to the races and you can never count out a Bill Mott-trained filly.

The finale is a maiden claiming race on the turf and drew a field of twelve. The live horse race is wide open so use as many as the budget allows. The top contenders are Swaggaboy, National Security and Le Grand Artiste.

It’s a tough way to end the Pick-6, but it looks like long shots could rule the day.
